Knitting for the Needy:
Learn How to Knit Child-Sized Socks
     
Date:   Thursdays, May 13 and 20, 2010
     
Time:   7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
     
Instructor:   Knitwear Designer Christiane Burkhard
     
Cost:   The 2-day instruction is free but you bring the material (see below) and you donate the finished pair of socks to our charity group (http://www.spousesnetworkatuconn.com/knitting-for-the-needy.html)
     
Prerequisites/Skill Level:   Advanced beginners or intermediate (you need to be familiar with: knit, purl, cast on, cast off)
     
Class description:   Christiane will guide you through the process of knitting a pair of child-sized socks following her own pattern ‘Cozy Toes’ (she donated to charity: http://www.ravelry.com/designers/christiane-burkhard).
     
Material:   170 - 200 yards worsted wool, preferably 100% wool, one set of double pointed needles (metal or bamboo), size US 4
     
Location:   Heike’s home in Storrs (details will be provided once you are registered)
