Learn to make Holiday Ornaments

Knitting for the Needy:
Learn How to Knit Child-Sized Socks
     
Date:   Thursdays, May 13 and 20, 2010
     
Time:   7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
     
Instructor:   Knitwear Designer Christiane Burkhard
     
Cost:   The 2-day instruction is free but you bring the material (see below) and you donate the finished pair of socks to our charity group (http://www.spousesnetworkatuconn.com/knitting-for-the-needy.html)
     
Prerequisites/Skill Level:   Advanced beginners or intermediate (you need to be familiar with: knit, purl, cast on, cast off)
     
Class description:   Christiane will guide you through the process of knitting a pair of child-sized socks following her own pattern ‘Cozy Toes’ (she donated to charity: http://www.ravelry.com/designers/christiane-burkhard).
     
Material:   170 - 200 yards worsted wool, preferably 100% wool, one set of double pointed needles (metal or bamboo), size US 4
     
Location:   Heike’s home in Storrs (details will be provided once you are registered)

  Please join us at our regular meeting of the Spouses Network on December 2nd – usual time, usual place. We’ll be making Origami holiday star decorations and also making wishes, while sampling traditional British mince pies and German Stollen!
We’d appreciate knowing numbers, so we can plan for materials, treats, etc.
